AI Policy

This Artificial Intelligence Policy (the "AI Policy") sets out the approach of Blend Lab FZE, the legal entity that owns and operates the Bunud platform (accessible at [bunud.ai] or [firms.bunud.ai] or [app.bunud.ai]) (the “Service”), to the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (“AI”) in connection with the Service.

 

The AI Policy is intended to provide transparency regarding Bunud practices and guiding principles relating to the use of AI, including compliance with applicable laws, responsible use, data sourcing, technical and organizational safeguards, and transparency.

This AI Policy reflects Bunud commitment to developing trustworthy AI technologies that support legal professionals while respecting privacy, ethics, and jurisdictional obligations.

BlendLab may update or amend this AI Policy from time to time to reflect changes in regulation, technology, or industry’s best practices.

This AI Policy should be read alongside any Acceptable Use Policy or Security Addendum made available at [www.bunud.ai/legal] (https://www.bunud.ai/legal).

1. Compliance with Laws

To the extent applicable to its provision of the Service, Bunud complies with relevant international and local laws and regulations relating to the development and operation of AI, including:

  • The European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689);

  • UAE laws on digital ethics, data protection, and cybersecurity.

  • The UAE Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence issued on June 10, 2024, which outlines 12 foundational principles including safety, fairness, transparency, privacy, and human oversight.

Bunud monitors legal developments across jurisdictions and adapts its practices accordingly.

2. AI Literacy and Responsible Use

Bunud is committed to the ethical and responsible use of AI, with a focus on augmenting—not replacing—human legal expertise. We assure you that:

  • Our technical and operational teams maintain an adequate level of AI literacy.

  • All AI-powered features are governed by internal ethical review procedures.

  • Output is designed to support—not substitute—professional legal judgment.

  • Any risks associated with AI output are actively monitored and mitigated.

3. Data Sources

Bunud ensures that all data sets used to enable AI capabilities are lawfully sourced and appropriately licensed.
We implement safeguards to:

  • Vet data sources for compliance and fairness.

  • Respect intellectual property and consent requirements.

  • Prevent reliance on unverified or biased data sets.

For firm-specific data (e.g., documents uploaded to firm knowledge bases), Bunud does not use such data for AI training, and access is scoped strictly to the relevant firm environment.

Bunud implements reasonable and commercially standard processes to verify the legality and suitability of data sources. While we strive to ensure compliance, ultimate responsibility for third-party content rests with the provider or user of such data.

 

4. Technical and Organizational Measures

Bunud maintains a wide range of technical and organizational controls to support secure and ethical AI operations. These include:

  • Internal policies governing AI development and deployment.

  • Encryption, access control, and monitoring systems (see our [Security Addendum]).

  • Regular testing to evaluate accuracy, reliability, and legal suitability of AI outputs.

  • Structured change management processes to ensure continued compliance with applicable standards and laws.

5. Transparency

Bunud has implemented procedures to help users clearly understand when they are interacting with AI. These include:

  • Labeling of AI-generated outputs within the interface.

  • Clear visual cues when interacting with the AI assistant.

  • Support for user-facing disclaimers where appropriate (e.g., “AI-generated, not legal advice”).

These practices are aligned with the Transparency and Human Oversight principles of the UAE AI Charter.

Bunud remains committed to ensuring its AI solutions are developed and delivered in a manner that is secure, ethical, and consistent with user expectations and legal frameworks.
